POP UP LOCATION CLOSED MONDAY, TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY

The Uptown Bikes POP UP SHOP, located at 1124 W. ARGYLE is OPEN! We're looking forward to being a part of Chicago's first "SHARED STREET", slated to open July 2016 and strengthening relationships with our UPTOWN and EDGEWATER friends and neighbors. For more about the Argyle Shared Street Project: http://48thward.org/your-ward/argyle-streetscape-project http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/Argyle-to-Become-Chicagos-First-Shared-Street-317665121.html Argyle Street is already a North Side gem, lined with Asian shops, restaurants and bakeries. The innovative streetscape design will transform the three blocks between Broadway and Sheridan into a shared-user plaza without curbs, where pedestrians, bicyclists and car drivers will co-exist. We are striving to integrate our Pop Up Shop into the Argyle Shared Streetscape and community. We also hope that our location adjacent to the Argyle "L" Station, between the #36 Broadway Bus  and #151 Sheridan Bus routes, and 1/4-mile from the Lakefront Path will support a multi-modal transportation culture. Currently, the Red & Purple Modernization (http://www.transitchicago.com/rpmproject/) and Wilson Station Reconstruction (http://www.transitchicago.com/wilson/) -- the Chicago Transit Authority's largest capital improvement project in that agency's history -- is in progress through 2017 and is having a drastic effect on the 4600 block of Broadway. We envision a bright future along the Broadway Business Corridor after the project is completed. Until then, we anticipate a lot of dust, loud noise, and heavy construction equipment on the street throughout Phases 2, 3 and 4 of construction. Uptown Bikes' main shop, located at 4653 N. BROADWAY, will remain fully operational and fully staffed, and maintain regular business hours. We expect the sidewalk along the 4600 block of Broadway will remain open to pedestrian traffic for the duration of construction. The Uptown Bikes' Pop Up Shop serves as a convenient second location -- a nice alternative for customers who want to avoid the Broadway construction zone. The Pop Up Shop is staffed by an experienced mechanic. Pop Up Shop services include "WHILE-YOU-WAIT" repairs, such as FLAT FIXES and AIR & OIL. We also stock a selection of basic parts and accessories at the Pop Up Shop, such as helmets, lights, locks, chain lube, bells, tires and tubes.    During the Argyle Night Market season, the Uptown Bikes Pop Up Shop will be open extended business hours, 11AM - 9PM, and will offer bike valet service for market-goers. Come visit us at both locations!
